LinkedIn’s Website Demographic Tracking Tag

Late last month LinkedIn introduced a new tool allowing businesses to better understand the types of professionals visiting their websites. By including a snippet of code on your site, LinkedIn will now be able to provide analytic data on your website traffic across dimensions such as:

  • Job title
  • Industry
  • Job seniority
  • Job function
  • Company
  • Company size
  • Location
  • Country

The concept is not new, with Facebook already providing a similar service via its ‘audience insights’ platform. The new the tool is freely accessible via the LinkedIn advertising platform.
