Targeting Store Visitors With Facebook Ads

Targeting Store Visitors With Facebook Ads

One Facebook advertiser recently shared a screen shot of a new ‘custom audience’ option, suggesting that advertisers will soon be able to remarket to users who have visited their businesses physical address in the past 30 days. The new tool seems to use a similar mechanic to the ‘Store Visits’ ad objective, which allows advertisers to create dynamic ads that appear within a certain radius of their businesses physical address along with a ‘Get Directions’ button. By pairing a users location information (via Facebook’s location settings) with the physical address provided by a business, Facebook will be able to determine if a user has been into that store.

It is worth noting that for this targeting option to be available a business must first set up Facebook Locations to provide Facebook with the required businesses location information. Facebook Locations are only available to business with more than 1 physical store.
